Your First Day in Phuket: What to Do After Checking Into Your Apartment
A step-by-step plan for your first day after checking into apartments in Phuket: what happens at check-in, what is ready to use right away, and where to go on day one — Phuket Real 24.

In your first 24 hours at Phuket Real 24 apartments: check in from 14:30, leave a deposit and pay any balance due, check the kitchen, washing machine and wifi, then either walk to Surin Beach (12–15 minutes) or stay inside the complex, which has pools, a restaurant and a Starbucks.
What happens at check-in
Check-in at Mida Grande Resort apartments starts at 14:30. On arrival, a refundable deposit is collected: 5,000 THB for one-bedroom apartments and 10,000 THB for two-bedroom apartments. If the booking wasn’t paid in full in advance, the balance is settled at check-in too. For more on what the deposit is and when it’s returned, see security deposit in Phuket: what it is and when you get it back.
How to pay if the balance isn’t settled in advance
Accepted methods include cash in Thai baht, bank transfer of baht to a Thai card, rubles to a Russian card, tenge, EUR and USD to a Kazakhstan card, cash EUR and USD, and USDT. If you plan to settle up in something other than baht, it’s worth confirming the method ahead of time rather than at check-in — a full breakdown of each option is in how to pay in Phuket: baht, rubles, tenge, USDT.
What’s ready to use right away
Every apartment comes with a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine, dedicated 300 Mbps internet and a TV with channels from more than 100 countries. You can cook, do laundry after the flight, or jump straight onto a video call without any setup. For what exactly the kitchen includes and who it matters most for, see apartments with a kitchen and washing machine in Phuket.
Where to go on day one
Two options, and they aren’t mutually exclusive:
- Head to the sea. Surin Beach is ≈ 750 m from the complex, 12–15 minutes on foot. If walking in the heat doesn’t appeal, the complex also runs a beach shuttle — 300 THB round trip.
- Stay inside the complex. Mida Grande Resort has 6 pools (4 on the rooftop, 2 with bars), a restaurant, a Starbucks café, a rooftop café, two gyms, two kids’ play rooms, a library-coworking space and a garden lounge. For the first day after a flight, that’s usually enough to avoid planning anything active outside the grounds.
If you’re staying for a while
If your first 24 hours are the start of a month-long stay rather than a short visit, it’s worth clarifying a few things upfront: what’s included in the monthly rate, how metered utilities are calculated, and which flight makes sense for check-out given the standard 11:00 time. A checklist for long stays is in wintering in Phuket: how to choose apartments for a month or longer, and if you need to shift check-in or check-out, see early check-in and late check-out in Phuket.
