Phuket High Season by Month: When It Costs More and When to Book
Phuket high season runs 20 September to 19 May, with the most expensive and busiest stretch being 24 December to 10 March. Monthly prices and when to book.

Phuket’s high season runs from 20 September to 19 May — the dry stretch between monsoons, when the west coast sea is calmer and rain is less frequent. Inside it sits a narrower, most expensive window: 24 December to 10 March, when rates are highest, the minimum stay goes up, and the required deposit grows. The closer your dates are to that window, the earlier you should book.
Which months count as high season
Low season on Phuket is only 20 May to 19 September, covered in which beaches are calmer in low season. The rest of the year, pricing at the apartments in the Mida Grande Resort complex climbs gradually toward New Year and comes back down after it, rather than sitting at one flat “high” rate.
How much accommodation costs by month
Monthly rates (30+ nights) for Deluxe Ocean View 40 m²:
| Period | Monthly price |
|---|---|
| 20 September – 19 October | 36,000 THB |
| 20 October – 19 November | 47,000 THB |
| 20 November – 24 December | 59,000 THB |
| 24 December – 10 January (peak) | 130,000 THB |
| 10 – 31 January | 110,000 THB |
| 1 February – 10 March | 99,000 THB |
| 10 – 19 March | 69,500 THB |
| 20 March – 19 April | 55,500 THB |
| 20 April – 19 May | 36,000 THB |
For comparison, the same category costs 26,500 THB a month in low season (20 May – 19 September) — this and other periods are broken down in how much apartment rental costs on Phuket in 2026. The gap between the September rate and the New Year peak is almost 3.6 times, and it’s not a random jump — it’s demand building steadily toward December.
When does the most expensive, busiest stretch start
The most expensive and busiest stretch inside high season is 24 December – 10 March. Two booking terms are stricter exactly in this window: the prepayment rises from the usual 10% to 50% of the booking total, and the minimum stay goes up from 3 to 7 nights. That’s a direct signal of demand — the closer a date is to winter, the faster open dates get booked, so this window is worth booking early rather than waiting until December.
What else changes besides price
In winter, the west coast — including Surin Beach next to our apartments — gets a calmer sea, since the monsoon blows from the other side of the island at that time of year. In low season the same coast is more exposed to waves and current. So Phuket’s high season lines up with both higher prices and more comfortable swimming conditions, not just dry weather.
For families and anyone who needs two bedrooms, pricing follows the same seasonal pattern — the difference between categories is covered in two-bedroom apartments: Family or Grande Luxury.
